Don’t worry - the cost of a dozen eggs is up 700% since last year.

The price of gas is going back up.

And Trump’s tariffs on steel and aluminum will drive inflation upwards while making cars and homes much more expensive.

But hey, at least the plastic straws we never lost are “back” right?!?

These were the books I read in January. I do not recommend the first. The other two are parts of series and were great. Onyx Storm was phenomenal.

I’m doing a new song every day challenge for 2025. The songs may relate to the day somehow, may be a favorite, or may just have randomly popped into my head. Here’s January..

Just got home and opened apps to catch up on the events of the day and was immediately hit with all the BS that Trump had to say about yesterday’s plane crash.. and nope. Just nope. I need a night off. I do not have the bandwidth for this tonight. It’s only been like ten days, you guys 😭😭

My nephew turns four this week, and we celebrated today. It was a nice afternoon with family to find some joy in what has been a very long, cold, and discouraging January.

Wow. Bishop Mariann Edgar Budde fearlessly calls out Trump and Vance to their faces. This is heroic.

My beige flag is that I lack the confidence to think I am doing well at my job even after receiving a great evaluation, but I truly believe my chubby, out of shape self would kick everyone’s ass in an apocalyptic scenario.

The inverted flag isn’t disrespect — it’s a distress signal from naval traditions, used to show grave danger to life or property.

With a lawless man set to take power after attempting to overthrow the government, America is in extreme danger.

That’s why I’m posting it today.

I love this so much!

At the inauguration, Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson wore a distinctive collar adorned with cowrie shells, which are believed to offer protection from evil in African traditions.

This choice mirrors the late Justice Ginsburg’s practice of using collars to convey a message.

For those of you, like me, who have not deleted Facebook at this time, just a head’s up - my wife and I both just discovered we were suddenly following JD Vance even though neither of us had ever done so. You may want to check your likes and follows.

Donald Trump plans to pardon the terrorists who violently attacked our Capitol.

Joe Biden pardoned the police officers they attacked and the lawmakers who investigated the attack.

Any questions.

In 2020, Trump tried to ban TikTok.

He cited one of his reasons was "retaliation for the China virus".

He tried to force a sale to American Oligarchs. He was overruled by a federal judge.

In 2021, Biden revoked Trump's EO banning TikTok.

It's so fitting that Donald Trump's inauguration will be held in the Capitol Rotunda, the very place four years ago where his pack of lawless loons ransacked, looted, and smeared their excrement. What an apt metaphor for what the incoming administration plans to do to America.

Let’s be real. The only reason Trump is moving his inauguration indoors is so he can claim he would have had the biggest crowds were it not for the weather.

And his hair, probs.

The temperature at noon on Monday will be 22 degrees which is the same temperature it was in 1961 when Kennedy was inaugurated.

The ceremony was held outside.

When I get home from work, I sit at my kitchen table with a cup of coffee and scroll TikTok. It’s a comforting routine that helps me switch gears from “school me” to “home me”. I hope today isn’t the last day I get to do this, and I’m really sad-mad if it is.
