A lot of folks look at the 35% of people who didn't vote this time as our enemy. I see them as potential comrades who feel disillusioned and betrayed by the system. There's a lot of possibility in a country where a whole lot of us agree that the system as it is is failing.

Turns out all the checks and balances we thought the American system had were actually just the honor system and fear of disapproval.
I dunno know maybe we needed a true narcissist to make it clear what holes we need to plug.

My third party voter friends are far more politically involved than me. They’re out there doing the work in a way I have not been.
And I’m also pretty fucking burned out on vote blue no matter who. Call me radical, but wouldn’t it be nice to feel excited about a candidate?

This is something I've identified as one of my biggest areas for growth this year. As someone who loves people but has social anxiety, I will respond joyfully to a lighthearted interaction, but I will avoid to the ends of the Earth someone who might want literally anything from me. Needs work.
Small talk with people. It’s going to save lives. I’ve seen posts about alerting friends and neighbors about ICE. But listen…I’ve done years of customer service and a lot of people can barely chat with a barista.
