Very excited to join this community! I'm a molecular biologist at UC San Diego who is passionate about science art, fashion, and outreach. I'm also an IF/THEN Ambassador and created the science video game #Microscopya. Looking forward to connecting with you all! #SciArt #ScienceFashion #SciComm
We couldn't be more excited for @mag2art.bsky.social's talk in our session at #CellBio2025, and I can assure everyone that he is absolutely qualified. Looking forward to it 🤩
I am presenting at the Science and Art Minisymposium at #CellBio2025 today! The line up is great this year. I am hands down the least qualified person presenting. It is a weird feeling but I am excited! Here is my title slide.

Come find out how to make your science more accessible. Hear and touch mitosis during my talk. @ascbiology.bsky.social #cellbio2025 #mitosis #midbody #tactilelearning
Here’s a sneak peek at two of the amazing topics that will be presented - Ahna Skop’s 'Tactile Mitosis' project to create more inclusive, multi-sensory learning tools, and Janet Iwasa’s software that allows users to create molecular visualizations!

Our #SciComm booth at LA Comic-Con was all about the science behind #Pokémon! It was a joy to see people of all ages engaging with our activities and creating DNA jewelry. Thank you @afroherper.bsky.social, @cosplayforscience.bsky.social, IF/THEN and the Ecologik Institute for this collaboration ❤️

What a pleasure to join the #AAAS #SSTEM2025 Meeting, which brought together over 1000 talented students across all STEM fields. We also got to preview our next #Microscopya game chapter (on the TV screen 📺) and are excited to share more news about that soon! Thank you @aaascsew.bsky.social!

I'm so honored to have my art featured on the cover of IEEE Computer Graphics and Applications - my very first science drawing that marked the beginning of my #SciArt journey! Read the cover story here: ieeexplore.ieee.org/document/111...
A huge thank you to the journal and @gary-singh.bsky.social!

This drawing is an homage to Sir Paul Nurse's pioneering work on the #CellCycle, along with others who laid the groundwork for what we know today, and it's featured on the poster and abstract book of the Salk Cell Cycle meeting. Huge thanks to @salkinstitute.bsky.social‬ and conference organizers!

A common metaphor to describe cellular signaling pathways is an electronic circuit board, which sums up positive and negative input signals and transmits them to the output, which determines entry into mitosis. This is based on a realistic schematic that would be functional when built!

Very excited to share my brand new 'Cell Cycle Circuit' drawing! It shows a signaling circuit that regulates mitotic entry in fission yeast, where a protein complex (Cdc2/CDK1-Cyclin B) integrates both positive (Cdc25) and negative signals (Wee1 & Mik1/Myt1) to decide when to divide. #CellCycle2025

Wow, really? What a small world! I would have loved to say hello, but I was also very tired and jetlagged. It's my first time in Cambridge and I absolutely love it!

My first time presenting a poster on #SciArt was at VIZBI 2019. I was thrilled to meet an amazing community of creative scientists working on data visualization, science illustrators, and people who transitioned between research and science art. This experience that has led me to where I am today!

I couldn't be more honored to speak at the #VIZBI meeting on Visualizing Biological Data! If you love science visualization/art and haven't heard of VIZBI, please take a moment right now to check it out and consider participating (including a virtual option). I hope to see many of you there!

I'm humbled to have my art on the poster for a very special symposium that celebrates Prof Rick Kahn and his work on ARF GTPases and G proteins! The drawing highlights the diversity of cellular structures because these proteins are so crucial in regulating a wide variety of processes in the cell!
