On Nov. 7th, I told my sociolinguistics students this was going to happen. They did an activity on language policy and one of the lessons was that repressive regimes always try to criminalize languages that are not ideologically associated with nationalism. I’m sorry I was right.

Depending on where you live in the world, it can be difficult to source books in one's native language to read to children. This is a (free!) fill-in-the-blanks book that allows caregivers to use their language of choice! Great for bi- or multilingual families and a wonderful resource all around.
