Aroma is a bubblegum noseblast. Taste is a banana butty with a slight hint of clove. Clean finish. Body is a little thin for the style. I wouldn’t say they’ve nailed this but it’s a very quenchly hefeweizen.

Grainy rusticity on the nose. Taste has toasty maltage and a generous squeeze of orangey lemon, washed over with a light yeasty funk, finishing dry with a peppery bitterness. A textbook ‘straight’ saison. I like.

Oaky barrelism on the nose, with hints of woody vanilla. Taste has lightly funked grapey citrus with a nice level of acidity, and a moreishly dry finish. Superb stuff from @burningskybeer.bsky.social.

Very sniffable aroma of creamy coffee. Taste continues that theme, with a sweet-but-roasty choccy coffeeness, accompanied by a blueberry muffin, and finishing moreishly dry. Hugely satisfying bigboy porterism from @redwillowbrewery.bsky.social

Not a brewery I knew much about before today, until I did their excellent brewery tour: Chicago's Dovetail Brewery @dovetailbrewery.bsky.social. specialists in euro-style beers, particularly lagers. And they do them really well!

Well that was an excellent brewery tour at Goose Island. I've been on lots of brewery tours but that was probably the booziest. Plied with freebies throughout, including two pours of 2024 Bourbon County Stout in their barrel store 😲😍
