OMG - the judge in Florida just sua sponte struck the complaint in the Trump v NYT case for -wait for it - violating Rule 8.

Lawyers, tell the folks at home how hard it is to get the complaint struck outright for something like that in fed eral court.

For @thebarbedwire.bsky.social, I dug into data first reported by @404media.co and found that Texas law enforcement agencies conducted at least 180 immigration-related searches this year using an AI-powered automatic license plate reader network.

This is certainly worth trying, but it’s also largely untested—the Supreme Court has never approved the concept of a “class action habeas” suit.

Doesn’t mean it can’t work, especially in lower courts. Just means it faces a steep uphill climb at SCOTUS.
BIG UPDATE TODAY: This afternoon, the ACLU filed a new "class action habeas" lawsuit in New York challenging the Alien Enemies Act removals. They are seeking a temporary restraining order which would basically replicate the same thing they previously had with Judge Boasberg's order.
NY judge will hold a hearing tomorrow at 10am on the ACLU's new lawsuit challenging Alien Enemies Act deportations of people located in that state

No greater example of oligarchy. Where the ultra-wealthy run the show.

Dems, I'm begging you, start demonizing billionaires like they do immigrants and trans people. We need a leftist populism that makes people hate the very concept of billionaires.
