It was a complicated layer cake of reasons, it's not like every American is a well educated critical thinker with access to firmly grounded, factual news.
Educational divestment, politically aligned churches and the collapse of ethical media all contributed.

Pandemic has two different categories for successfully controlled disease: cured and eradicated. Cured means it can't spread anymore but it's not gone. Eradicated means all cubes of that color are gone from the board and the cure has been found so it can't reoccur.

I look at it differently. Society wants us to learn in order to do the thing, when for some of us it's the learning part that interests us.
