Doesn't particularly bode well for Your Party having a good grasp on their membership numbers if I'm receiving canvassing calls after having quit in November, lol.

People talk about this stuff in terms of how much it'll suck for gaming and I hate to inform you how many MRI machines, X-Rays, all sorts of other vital machinery are just a Windows IoT Edition PC in a beige plastic box with a big magnet/accelerator/whatever attached.

Billionaires should not exist because they can use their vast wealth and influence to create crises like this in service of something the vast majority of the public does not want and cannot be meaningfully stopped as long as they're billionaires.

For real. Besides Labour continually delaying local elections, or consigning themselves to death with the excuse it'd be too costly to have a single Mayoral by-election, rumours were that most of the PLP would resign if Corbyn had actually won in 2017 and 2019. That's besides threat of army coups.
when i read this i got stunlocked by a dozen contrary examples all jumping to mind at once. the UK! ha!
It's great to live in a country (Canada, Japan, UK, France, Germany, Sweden, Italy, etc.) where citizens don't worry about if the next election will be canceled, if they will be allowed to register to vote, if they will have to stand in line for hours to vote, or if their vote will be counted.

A British remake of Good Bye, Lenin! except it’s about Keir Starmer’s assistant of 30 years trying to prevent his boss from finding out about anything of any importance ever

This is IMO fully consistent with Sir Keir being exactly what he appears to be: a clueless bonnet ornament on a car filled with crooks and shit gangsters, forever staring directly ahead, oblivious to the horrors behind.

Flattered when I get the Zack Polanski retweet, but that does mean I get all the biggest dickheads imaginable in my Twitter mentions for a couple hours.

Still don't want to write them off, but have never been more glad to have detached myself from caring about Your Party while the blood-letting continues.

Finished Cyberpunk 2077 a week ago.

This opinion still broadly stands. The mainline missions are legit some of the most mechanically uninteresting/boring content in the whole damn game, including the various iterations of the final mission. The endings themselves are great. Bleak, but great.
Okay, disregard this. I'm nearly 50 hours deep and would like to revise my position:

It's still flawed mechanically and narratively (as an RPG, linearly it's quite appealing even if your choices mean fuck all), but I've been won over by the impressive (literal and figurative) worldbuilding.
Anyway, I finally bought Cyberpunk 2077 in the Steam sale and sadly have to concur with the people who said its problems went beyond the shoddy state it launched in.

It's still early and I hear the Phantom Liberty expansion is genuinely great, but it's not hooking me and it feels... wrong, somehow.

top schumering lately. his party's supporters want ICE abolished; he proposes ICE being reformed, & then those reforms are a bunch of half-measures like the agents not wearing masks, & then he waters that down until we land on the agents not wearing masks unless they say they have a reason. 10/10
Chuck Schumer says ICE should be allowed to wear masks in "unusual circumstances—you know, some guy's picture was put up by a terrorist group or something."

JPMorgan should ‘threaten’ UK over banker tax, Mandelson told Epstein.

Mandelson was Business Secretary at that time in 2009.

After leaving govt in 2010, Mandelson set up an advisory firm called Global Counsel, JPMorgan was a client.

Must be investigated.

starmer is hilarious: Mandelson can only be removed from Lords by an Act of Parliament, so you can see why, as Prime Minister, there is nothing I can do
