There’s nothing politicians and press can do to make amends for conduct that despicable, but acknowledging it now is better than basically nothing at all, which is what we’ve had for most of the last two years.

The period where the IDF were firing machine guns at people trying to pick up bags of flour was one of the most despicable things I’ve seen in this country: every day for weeks, people behaving like something confusing and hard to understand was happening, because they couldn’t say what they saw.

Narrator: there were not.
Surely there are some better arguments on the pro landlordism side of the debate than implying that if a landlord doesn't own the house, the house ceases to exist??

Anyway, a big thing about being unemployed I'm looking forward to are cheap cinema tickets because I can go in the middle of the day on a Wednesday and pay like £6.

15 minutes before I left work today, I received an email asking me to write a full handover document and manifest of equipment available in the studio.

What would have been a very easy task to leisurely get done over my notice period has become something I need to crunch for. Thanks guys.
I've had a meeting every week since I handed in my notice about freelancing, but they suddenly stopped when I turned down their insulting lowball offer, lol.

Anyway, I leave *very* soon and the company are going to have very heavy photography requirements come January. 🤷‍♂️
For anybody following this saga, they low-balled me with a rate even lower than this. I leave in two weeks and they want to have another meeting to negotiate, lol.

If the UK govt had any sense of self preservation they'd turn Twitter off tomorrow and bulldoze every Tesla dealership in the country.
Elon Musk, "These lovely small towns in England, Scotland and Ireland, they've been living their lives quietly. They're like hobbits"

"And so one day, 1,000 people show up in your village of 500 and start raping the kids"

"This has now happened, God knows how many times in Britain"

Many times have I considered whether I could monetise my Twitter account, but as I've never received a single DM asking me to stick a link to some cheap plastic doodad beneath a hit viral tweet, I simply have to assume I am not Brand Compliant.

You might like to take this up with e.g. the Prime Minister’s chief of staff, who seems to have spent most of 2024 telling journos about how he personally and very cleverly manufactured this crisis as a weapon against his own party’s leadership, enlisting the lobby hacks as his accomplices.

However, in this article, they position both Reform *and* The Greens as "parties on the ‘edges’ of British politics" without once mentioning neoliberalism and/or the Overton window effect 🤦
