You stand at the threshold and push open the ancient door. Stepping into the darkness, you raise your torch. The old wizard emerges from the shadows, nodding in approval. "Very good," he says, as you draw your blade.

In my last Dnd campaign, a secret Vampire cult used a reformation movement to take over the dominant moon goddess religion, renaming it The Communion. They said it was time to cast off hateful superstitions. "Vampire" was a forbidden slur. They were now "The Moonsired," those blessed by the goddess.

The closest I've ever come to DMing a TPK was when my players snuck into a prison to rescue an NPC. I based the prison on The Pit from The Dark Knight Rises: 6 levels around a large pit. I thought the risk of falling would be fun and tense, but the PCs kept failing their saving throws lol

Firebug is my favorite homebrew item from my new Daggerheart magic item pack.

It's inspired by the strategy I used as a new D&D player in high school: start a huge fire and use the ensuing chaos as cover to sneak, steal, or escape

The full pack has 7 wands (PDF + cards) for $2.95 on DrivethruRPG

Do you wish Daggerheart had more Magic Items?

My Pocket Wands magic item pack includes 7 wands that give any character a taste of spellcasting (no Spellcast trait required). They're non-combat, story-driven, and go with any narrative frame.

7 cards and PDF for $2.95 on DrivethruRPG!

My prediction is Darrington Press will support Daggerheart for 1 to 2 years. Then Wizards of the Coast will announce they're giving Darrington the license to make D&D 6e, which will be helmed by Chris Perkins and Jeremy Crawford. WOTC will manage the brand. Critical Role will continue to use D&D.

What a pity Mr. bond, it appears you have rolled a success with fear.

I regret to inform you that removing the Red Shadow's mask reveals your greatest foe is in fact your brother. It seems he survived the tragic accident detailed in your backstory, and I'm afraid he blames you for what happened.

I love the Daggerheart Homebrew Kit. Very fun to understand the mind of the designers and more than helpful for converting my homebrewed D&D magic items to Daggerheart.

Has there been any sort of official Daggerheart style guide released yet?

What do people think about the gold system in Daggerheart? It seems the intention is for gold to serve more as a descriptor for your character (are they rich or not) and less as a means of buying stuff. The book avoids establishing any economic standards, which has its pros and cons

If you like playing Daggerheart and wish there were more magic items, I'm currently converting my book of D&D magic items to Daggerheart and should have them available soon on my website and probably Drivethrurpg

Lots D&D discourse from Dungeon Masters proclaiming they know the right or wrong way to play D&D. My hot take is:

It's a game. If the way you play it is fun, then it's the right way for you. Fun is subjective. (The secret is not how you play it, but the people you play it with.)

The Pipe of the Consulting Detective helps players roleplay clever characters without needing to be clever IRL. It's a 5e magic item that helps investigate mysteries, interrogate NPCs, and spiral into paranoia.

Perfect for story-driven roleplay & mystery-solving adventures in Dungeons & Dragons 5e
