Lumbar puncture is essential to study cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) biomarkers, especially for #Alzheimer’s research in pre-clinical stages. 🧠💧

But post-lumbar puncture headache (PDPH) is a common side effect that can discourage participation.

A new BBRC study, GLYMPH-AD, led by Dr. Gonzalo Sánchez Benavides, will explore how sleep blood pressure patterns may affect Alzheimer’s risk, focusing on the glymphatic system, the brain’s cleaning mechanism. 🔬🧠

At the BBRC neuroimaging research group, led by Dr.‪ @gsalvado.bsky.social, we study how the brain changes years before Alzheimer’s develops 🧠

By combining neuroimaging with genetic and cognitive data, we look for clues to anticipate and prevent the disease.
