Damn, we need to get back here more often. This place is nicer than the other one.

With that said, I've been playing Gunvein these days, and what a freaking great game. Top 10 shmups ever material, easily.

Does anyone know if Shikigami No Shiro 1 and 2 give extends? I know 3 doesn't. I also know 3 was made by Skonec and not Alfa System, and I think they never give extends on any of their shmups.

Do you like the system we use in Sophstar, where new credits are unlocked as you finish plays of the game?

Or do you prefer free credits from day one?

We do like our unlock credits system a lot.

Man, I got to play Cycle Chase H-5 for the first time this weekend.

What an awesome shmup! Why people don't talk more about it?

It's really on the easy side - I 1cc both the Basic and Advance mode on my first try - but it's really a lot of fun!

We are glad to announce that we were in talk with TGL for a while now, and we can now reveal:

We are curttely developing a sequel to the all time classic Steam Hearts.

Titled: "Hearts 2: Steam Harder"

With 18 new characters, It will be released Q1/26. Stay tuned for more news.

Does anyone enjoy Sega CD Silpheed? It has been a LONG time since I played it, but I have memories of its atmosphere being so awesome with the FMV backgrounds and the soundtrack with radio chatter and everything. And those flat polygons look great.

Gameplay was a lot of fun too.

Yesterday had Unity crashing randomly at 2:00am. Opened it up.... project corrupted, none of the objects could find their scripts, the Assembly-CSharp file was somehow missing.

Thank God for Version Control. Went to bed, rolled back to previous version today :) easy fix.

Love those pictures. 2019, our programmer's wife took those 2 pictures, after he saw a completely bastardized Daytona USA machine in a mall and thought "I want to play that", hadn't played it in ages.

Finished 8th :P

Also surprised I wasn't rocking the long hair. Decided to fully drop it in 2023

Wait... this game has just.. THREE STAGES?

I always liked this game, but it's so absurdly hard. Maybe 3 stages is enough, hehe. I remember first time I got to the floppy boss, it was amazing.

I never beat stage 2, but that was ages ago.

While doing Sophstar, our team was really impressed with the programmer for 2 things: 1) His deep knowledge about shmups, 2) How quickly he fixes bugs

About 1)... 😎

About 2) My code is a mess, dated and unoptimized but BOY AM I FAST or what? :P

Everytime I see a post somewhere with people asking recommendations for shmups, I think about saying "Hey, Sophstar is kinda nice, you know?" but I always feel it will be cringe as hell.

But... almost everytime someone else does it. It makes me so proud. It feels like a dream.

Cyberpunk 2077 is a great videogame, but it makes a lot hard to find content for the TTRPG Cyberpunk Red. (They were released togehter, I know)

CP:RED is a prequel to CP77, and it's rapidly becoming my fav TTRPG. It seems they are planning an update so you can play on the CP77 settings.

Sometimes I need to "teach" our junior guys here that players usually don't notice a lot of stuff mid-action.

"But this ship has no cannons, how their bullets are coming up from its hull?"

Mate, Cave shmups have bullets spawning from thin air, no one says a thing. :P
