Woke up, checked my phone and smiled, the Kennedy Center is closing for 2 years, for "renovation". Suggest it's closing because the artists, the singers and musicians Just Said No! No to Trump, and no to the rest of the Fascists. We know who destroys the arts and treats us like trash.

I admit it, as a news and jazz junkie I look forward to the daily reminder of a government in chaos, and unable to right itself, even with the "best and brightest" of the rich people in congress. As a musician on the Titanic I would have played on unto death, but with a few choice words as I went.

This is a reminder that before the age of phones, that act as a camera, this would have been hard to identify, let alone convict. I'm expecting the legal system will fail yet again to hold the murderers to account for what they have done. America's failed legal system will fail yet again here.

Snowbound for a bit here, the locals can't handle it, living outside Syracuse, N.Y. for five years has prepared me well. The trick is to stay clear of those who should either learn to drive in snow, or better just stay the hell home.

Minneapolis Police Chief Brian O'Hara: "People have had enough. This is the third shooting in less than 3 weeks. The MPD went the entire year last year recovering about 900 guns from the street, arresting hundreds of violent offenders, and we didn't shoot anyone ... this is not sustainable."
