After 26 hours of fighting on the Senate floor, Republicans voted to rip health care from millions of people and let little babies go hungry. And they cheered.

I'm angry. You should be too. But this fight isn't over.

It seems as if Sen. MarkWayne Mullin, OK, is confident that Trump's "One Big Beautiful Bill" will pass. I mean, No, it doesn't balance the budget, and 6 million people will be kicked off Medicaid, but it's because they are undeserving and won't work. Oh, (1 of 3)

NPR just sued Trump over his unconstitutional executive order gutting federal funding for public media.

Kudos to them for standing up for the First Amendment. It reminds me of when Mr. Rogers stood up to Nixon's attempts to gut public broadcasting 56 years ago.

This is outrageous, cruel and inhumane. Is ICE truly this evil and cruel?
This guy is in one of the worst prisons in the world with no way out and may spend the rest of his life there because, it appears, he has an autism awareness tattoo in honor of his little brother.

Very long but fascinating story of the Rupert Murdoch empire. One quote from NYT attributed to son James Murdoch re: Fox is that his hope would be "(Fox) would still cater to conservative viewers but remain more accountable to facts." Says a lot, doesn't it? www.nytimes.com/2025/02/13/m...

Excellent by @ezrakleinbot.bsky.social "If you’re always consumed by the next outrage, you can’t look closely at the last one. The impression of Trump’s power remains; the fact that he keeps stepping on rakes is missed. The projection of strength obscures the reality of weakness. Don’t believe him."

Our beautiful country is under attack, and I am incredibly alarmed. Jay Kuo is a well reasoned guide to events including ways to help.
It’s a very common question these days in light of all these attacks upon our Republic: Is somebody doing something?! The good news is, they are. I break it down and discuss the four kinds of responses that are happening today. Link in the replies.

www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/202... McConnell can partially atone for the sin of helping return a pro-Putin, NATO-averse president to office by — for once — standing up to Trump. No longer in a leadership position he can show that his paeans to Senate’s institutional power are more than words.
