Jobs numbers, RFK, etc., making me want to listen to a certain Red Rider song on loop.

Data nerds need to weigh in here… BLS wants good data only. How does that sound? Like a boss or end user that pisses you off? Can’t make good business decisions on shit data. Well, maybe that’s why the casino failed…?

@pipczar.bsky.social I always heard you say something to the effect of “up the escalator, down the elevator.” Seeing @hmeisler.bsky.social Saturday Chartfest it looks like we got off on a floor… the next step (still waiting) will be a doozy!

I know a lot of shit is hitting the fan these days but nothing on this platform about the Supreme Court allowing Orange to fire Consumer Product Safety Commission members? JFC. How long before we pull seat belts out of cars? This generation will learn about Mom's arm I guess. WTF... #TMIAFM

Edit: worse. Worse than the old swamp. It is getting worse.
Meet the new swamp… same as the old swamp… drain must’ve been clogged.

I went back into the Time Machine and saw this so I thought it appropriate to update even though it’s only a 4 year interval…

How soon we forget. Recall in the first four years that people got fired by tweet? I guess we get world peace via tweet now too. What a wonderful world.

In the 1986 comedy “The Money Pit” Tom Hanks’ character is told “Two Weeks” by his contractor who then maniacally laughs as he drives away.

The US is imitating art right now as Orange is still obsessing over Joe Biden.

It’s worse than we can imagine.

Finally getting back to coding, and I forgot how little I like Python. Think I’ll switch over to golang tomorrow for loading my data.

History, people! We’ve been here before. It’s in the history books. It’s in the music. Listen to CSNY, the song Ohio. ‘Tin soldiers and Nixons coming… four dead in Ohio’
Do we really have to all this shit again??? Wake the fuck up. This is stupid.

I'm appalled at the lack of serious discourse on Trump's deteriorating cognitive functioning WHILE HE'S IN OFFICE.

But, yeah, let's keep rehashing Biden's issues.

Are we doing "Sell in May and go away." this year? Asking for a friend.

The lack of people in the Scottsdale grocery store tonight was a sign that the snowbirds have gone North (I think a safe assumption). Will be interesting to see if they return in the fall. I think not, based on how this year has begun.

3/3 All the while passing a huge tax cut to his biggest donors while this “big beautiful bill” eats away at Medicaid (Medicare too? Who’s read it all?). The GOP happily plays along while Orange whines about not having a new fucking plane. This really is the FAFO party. JFC.
May 14, 2025 at 12:00 AM
2/3 So how is today any different? Orange collects way over $200 million just for an inaugural event (that moved indoors); collects settlements and presidential library donations again in the millions (with more in the hopper); goes whack-a-mole with big beautiful tariffs (regressive tax on US)

1/3 AI just told me the average age in the Senate is 64, while the House is 57. If true, that means the education system was probably still teaching history when they were in school. One would expect them to know about Marie Antoinette and the result of “haves” vs. “have nots”…
