We are calling on Wellington City Council, Waka Kotahi, and KiwiRail to improve the shared path on Old Hutt Road. People who will be using the soon to open Te Ara Tupua path need a safe and attractive continuation of this soon to be iconic seaside path.

Trees not tunnels. We need strategic investment in #transport for all of Aotearoa, not several more BILLION being poured into another car-centric literal hole in the ground.

Is this the dumbest objection to bike lanes ever?

Wellington mayoral candidates on bike lanes
Each week we are asking the main mayoral candidates what they will do on key issues. This week: Retain, extend or reduce Wellington's current bike lane network?

E-bikes could cut carbon, congestion, and costs — if cities take them seriously
E-bike sales are booming, providing a clean form of transportation that also improves public health. Yet cities remain committed to cars.

That #CyclingMagic - jump on the bike, head to the game, and you're warmed up! And it's a great way for kids to head to the soccer, or rugby, or swimming!

With about 7,500 sports clubs across the motu, there's lots of opportunities to #CycleToTheGame !

Great weekend in Nga Motu / New Plymouth as the CAN Board visited @NorthTaranakiCyclingAdvocates - the Board inspected the new separated cycle infrastructure on SH3/Devon St West, and had a good korero with members from NTCA.

Pro-tip; you haven't lived til you've cycled the Coastal Walkway.

At CAN, lower speeds in our local communities is not negotiable. We recognise the benefits it brings to all road users, including cyclists. Safe, connected, separated cycling infrastructure includes lower speeds.

Vote for candidates who supports lower speeds on your local streets.

WCC has made massive progress on Wellington’s bike network, with good public support. But all that is at risk this election, with some candidates wanting to rip out bike lanes.
