FPL Draft (predominantly) and regular FPL (half-heartedly) enthusiast. Aka FPLCricket over on the other thing. IASIP and comedy aficionado. LCFC and LUFC don’t judge me.
Apologies for the lack of new pie news. Rest assured I’ve got the weekend off so intend to sample several, including one I anticipate getting from Bettys tea room which I have high hopes for.

Some crazy results this evening but all eyes are of course firmly on AFC Telford after they thumped Oxford City.

For all the Bruno cappers; look on the bright side. At least your punt hasn’t cost you against Haaland captainers and at least you dared to dream.

Heartbreak. Other half has found my limoncello mince pie stash and has got into them like a thing possessed. She’s tasted them and now nothing else will do. Need to find another stash site now I’m livid.

Pies aside, in FPL my draft team has DOUBLE the points my regular team has. Is it too much to ask for success in both formats??? The answer of course is yes.

No new pie yet but I’m currently enjoying the limoncello pie from Waitrose again. They’re that good. Gonna take some beating to take the top pie award from this one.

If anyone has any interest in iconic strictly dances I would strongly recommend Jay McGuiness’ jive from years ago. He lobbed that one in like the third week which was insane that he had that tekkers that early on.

FPL news; taken my first hit of the season. Lacroix and Sarr in for gudmundsson and Kudus.
Pie news; two pies to review but I’ve not long eaten and it’s not to review on a full stomach so bear with me.

Disappointed to see labour slip into the sneering and disingenuous politics that defined the tories in the last few years. Trying harder to make the alternatives look worse than make yourself better.
The leader of the greens thinks he can persuade Putin to give up weapons. The leader of reform thinks he can cut public spending without cutting services. Labour risks falling into same trap in its immigration and asylum policies. To actually change the world we need less bravado and more scrutiny.

I know a lot of people may think me harsh to judge a shop based on a sample size of ONE PIE. I would argue that it’s not my job to quality control their product and if that one pie is poor it reflects badly on the company as a whole. It IS my job to get these damn pies graded.

Any recommendations of mince pies for me to source and review would be appreciated. The good the bad and the ugly I shall do them all.
November 16, 2025 at 8:03 PM
In an attempt to justify my ludicrous mince pie intake I shall be critiquing them this Yuletide season.

For my first pie of the season this one was really exceptional. Juicy and lemony with a nice pastry and a good level of filling. Ate this one at room temp after a roast. 9/10.

People have tried to say that the Green surge is just on social media.

Or in a bubble that's just about polls and just about new members.

Yet up and down the country - Greens are also winning elections.

Huge congratulations to the Canterbury Greens! 💚🎉

An absolute shocker of a game week. Down to 93k. Expected to tumble in rank though after using my chips early but a truly dogshit week has compounded that. Can sack it off for two weeks now though at least.

20 point swing against me for picking Saka over Haaland for C. Down to 40k. More fool me!
November 4, 2025 at 7:05 AM
Despite my shit captain decision (shove it up your bollocks Saka), a 20 pointer from Roefs should get me a nice green arrow. Two saved pens, an assist, a clean sheet and 3 bonus and I’m laughing.

Only player in my team besides Kudus who blanked this week is Saka. Anyone care to guess who I captained?
November 2, 2025 at 5:59 PM
Kudus stinking up my team for another week but I simply had bigger fires to put out. Will probably be Sarr in by next weekend.

I think Lewis’ dance could arguably be the best dance they’ve ever had on strictly imo.

Compromise. Conformity. Assimilation. Submission. Ignorance. Hypocrisy. Brutality. The elite. All of which are elite FPL managers dreams.

Put a mixing bowl FULL of sweets out for the kids to trick or treat from. First bunch of kids took THE LOT. Literally every last bit. More fool me.
