Could be that they are bombarded with the idea that they need to be highly successful and hyper masculine in order to have "made it", including high testosterone levels. Couple this with a lack of genuine offline interpersonal connections and porn addiction; it makes a perfect storm of desperation.

I enjoyed it, albeit it was a bit of a quick read even for ~300 pgs. Not your typical fantasy adventure; more cozy and cute with a dash of 'the importance of community'. I just wished the main character's back stories were expanded more. 3.75/5

Not the strongest in the DB series, but he seemed to tone down a few of the problems with his previous entries (too many red herrings, too many characters).
The mystery was one of the weaker ones, but decent characterization; not enough gay content, 3.5/5

Never saw the film. Picked this up off the shelf on a whim. I was pleasantly surprised how much I enjoyed it. It's more than just a crime drama, but a genuine family drama. The characters were very likeable, especially Vito Corleone and his wife. 4/5

Finished Uncle Tom's Cabin, by Harriet Stowe.
Initially it felt sugar coat-y with regards to slavery, but it's a slow build up to the actual horrors of what slaves had to endure. No slave owner is ever a good person no matter how "nice".
