#TimeTravelAuthors Day 11

"You're a good man, Sully."

He hugged my waist. “And you’re a good woman, Beryl Blue.” He reached up and tucked a lock of hair behind my ear. “Now that I’ve found you, I’m not letting you out of my sight again.”

“Well, I found you, but let’s not quibble about it.”

Put on your boogie shoes and come party with my alter ego, Evie Kelley, and her far-out, 1976-set coming of age novel, MY BICENTENNIAL.
This week in 1976: an asteroid comes within a whisker of Earth (ok, 7.2 million miles), skater Dorothy Hamill (& her adorable hairdo) wins Olympic gold & Deidre Daly, the FMC of the 1976-set MY BICENTENNIAL, puts on her boogie shoes, a metric ton of blue eyeshadow, & heads to a Valentine's party.

Haha, yes! Sully has some strong opinions on that.

#TimeTravelAuthors Day 9

If speaking one's mind is political, then Beryl Blue doesn't hesitate to be so, especially when she visits the mid-20th century and witnesses the rampant sexism (and racism) of the day.

I don't blame them!
February 10, 2026 at 12:43 AM
Can't avoid politics in that time period!

The best time traveling calzone story you'll ever read! 🥰😆🕶️
In this delicious short story, a slacker pizza shop employee creates a time-traveling treat. “Turtle Day, or Kate Malone and the Magic Calzone” and 11 other stories in THE ACCIDENTAL TIME TRAVELERS COLLECTIVE VOL. 1. #FoodPit #P #TT

But both reasons are why the spies are coming after her, of course. That's where the suspense comes in. 😆

Thank you. 😁

#TimeTravelAuthors Day 7

Had Sully seen how I felt on my face? Did he know about that powerful emotion knocking on my heart? That four-letter word, sometimes a noun, more often a verb. A word that scared me more than anything. A word I wouldn’t even allow myself to think, let alone say out loud.

#TimeTravelAuthors Day 5

Beryl Blue, Time Cop time travels to points in US history, so the language spoken is primarily English.

In my WWII-set suspense, A Moment After Dark, Addie has the ability to see the future & speaks fluent German, both of which come in handy when enemy spies come calling.

Throwback Friday! How surreal is this picture? I think Weegee stopped to snap this photo on his way to a crime scene. (Aunt Mary Madigan and her son Dickie, hanging out on Cape Cod, c. 1940)

Nice! Also, you have a great title.

The '70s were a long, strange trip, and I (and my alter ego, author Evie Kelley) was there! 😃

#comingofagebook #70sstyle #1976bicentennial
The 1970s gave rise to many wild fads. Streaking, palazzo pants, Pet Rocks, avocado green appliances, & shag carpeting your mom’s still trying to vacuum popcorn out of 50 years later.

Let’s not forget funky footwear. Platform shoes, of course, but the oddest shoes of the decade were Earth Shoes.

#TimeTravelAuthors Day 3

I wrote Beryl Blue, Time Cop as a standalone, but when I got to the end, uh-oh, I'd written myself into a cliffhanger. Three books and a sequel short story later, I guess I've got a series. 😆

Cannot wait for this book to come out! (No pressure, though! 😁)

Who knew this single picture could inspire a 3 book series & a sequel short story?

Well, me!

Meet Beryl Blue, modern day librarian whisked to 1943. Her mission is to save a WWII soldier from a time traveling assassin - not fall in love.

This is my high school senior portrait from 50 years ago, an era of purple, polyester, and platform shoes.

I didn't smile. Probably because I had a zit the size of Montana in the middle of my forehead and a crick in my neck from gazing pensively over my shoulder as the photo guy insisted I pose.

You must have to pore thru ingredients listing like a scholar studying old texts.
