I think it’ll definitely make me read more since I won’t be doomscrolling! But as an author I’m worried about how we’re going to market our books from now on

i’m starting to really enjoy substack. feels like reading a newspaper every morning. so many essay ideas brewing 👀

the only way i can get myself through a first draft is by saying “this sucks and it’s ok that it sucks”
The number one advice any & every writing professional can & will give you is this:
DO NOT BE AFRAID TO SUCK.
You have spent years reading books, watching movies & TV, developing taste to know good from bad. NO ONE GETS TO READ YOUR WRITING UNTIL YOU LET THEM. Trust your taste & write fearlessly.
