Came here wanting an alternative to that other site. It's mostly just films 'n' footy. #COYS https://letterboxd.com/criticalwilliam
Well he's not singing in English, but fortunately the language of music is universal, so I understand that it sucks. #iamold

It's sometimes really jarring seeing pre-2001 New York movies.

Put on The Usual Suspects and had my mind blown a little seeing on the opening credits the same name come up as both editor and composer, but apparently John Ottman had 2 strings to his bow. Imagine having the talent to be both an Oscar-winning editor and composer of the likes of Kiss Kiss Bang Bang

I'd swear the ref went to his pocket there then changed his mind when he realised he'd have to send him off.

Honestly, this team are going to kill me.

When we bought Gallagher, I approved because he thought he was one of those take responsibility, grab the game by the scruff of its neck-type of players. Finally there is what I had hoped for.

Flipping heck. I mean, we have been much better this half.

Interested to know what the actual rules are on him kicking through the defender's leg like that.

So painful to watch.

"And today's commentary team is John A Commentator and an ex-footballer who makes no effort to disguise how much he hates Spurs."

Here we go.

Another one that was due a rewatch. Every part of this comes together so brilliantly. The story, the script, the characters, the performances, the action, the direction, the cinematography. Breathtaking.

This is so, so good. McDonagh's Banshees and Ebbing were the ones to get best film Oscar noms, but this is his best. Blackly funny, but with a strong streak of pathos running through it.

Watched on Friday.

This is good, eventually. The first act is *so* dark-hearted and unpleasantly gruesome that I actually wasn't really getting into it, but the film gets better as it goes on and the ending is really good. Ralph Fiennes is especially good, but I thought that... 1/2

I'm not a lyrics guy. Don't usually pay much attention to them, but a line from a song I've been listening to makes me smile:
"I've been watching too many movies that do not pass the Bechdel Test, and that makes me feel like I am a bad feminist. But I pirate them, so that makes it better, I guess."

I made the switch from Spotify to Tidal, because, y'know, Spotify, and Tidal seems kind of broken. I keep seeing 2 separate accounts for the same artists, or if there are 2 artists with the same name, they put tracks on the wrong one, and their recommended tracks based on previous plays are not good

Just watched a trailer for Primate. It came up on the screen that it had a 92% score on Rotten Tomatoes. Just checked: critics 80%, audience 71%.

We've finally - finally - got to the stage where a little regret is settling in with a few of the MAGAts. But ANY of them trying to shirk their culpability with the statement "We didn't vote for THIS!" can absolutely get tae fuck. This is on the them, yes, but it's also on you for putting them there

Whenever I leave work, I always put my music app on shuffle to listen to something random. It's just put on Sgt Pepper's and I just can't listen to it on headphones. The hard left and hard right panning - which was unavoidable if they were multitracking across limited tracks - does my brain in.

Can't they split an Oscar? Both Sean Penn and Benicio del Toro are just perfect in this. Bought on 4k Blu-Ray. Disappointing that there are zero extras on the disc.

Braverman defecting to Reform? You have to have a chuckle at that.

Gotta wonder too at this stage that when Reform take power at the next election, how Trumpian they will be, or if the world, in the meantime, stands up to him sufficiently to put such behaviour back as being mostly frowned upon.

Genuine current concern: can we come back from this, or is this the new world order?
January 25, 2026 at 1:54 AM
It's untenable. I am fully #frankout now. I have lamented the recent years of the Spurs manager-go-round, and definitely think that someone needs to be given time to build a project, to create the squad they want... 1/2

Just no joy in my reaction to that at all. Scraping an equaliser in a game we ought to be running away with is nothing to celebrate. #THFC
