ワシリー・カンディンスキー『馬上の二人』。カンディンスキーは色彩を見ると同時に音を聞く共感覚の持主でしたが、この共感覚に基づいて彼はこの絵の中で一つの楽曲を描こうとしたのだと思います。すなわちこの絵は全体の構図、光と影のコントラスト、樹木の形態等で曲の構造を表現し、きらめく木の葉、対岸の建物、馬上の二人の服等の色で音を表現しています。ただこのように細かく分析しなくても、全体の印象から各人の中でおのずと一つの旋律が生じてくるのではないでしょうか。
