1964 - All-American Tucker Frederickson is selected first overall in the NFL Draft by the New York Giants, the first Auburn player to go in the top slot.

Frederickson would play for six season before a knee injury forced him to retire.

1895 - The Auburn-Georgia game was delayed for nearly two hours as the teams debated on who should officiate.

Finaly, the game began. Auburn was "too much to handle" for the Athens players, as the Tigers won 16-6.

Auburn led the series 2-1

1970 - Pat Sullivan passed for 317 yards as Terry Beasley was responsible for 131 of them.

Down 17, #11 Auburn came back to defeat Alabama 33-28 in a tight ballgame.

1954 - Auburn grabbed their first victory over Alabama in six years while scoring the most points on the Tide in a game since 1904.

Senior Bobby Freeman led #15 Auburn to a 28-0 victory and helped the Tigers gain 354 yards on the ground.

1982 - Auburn held a slim 14-13 lead over Alabama at halftime.

After trailing 22-14 after three quarters, Auburn battled back with freshman Bo Jackson leading the way.

On 4th and 1, Bo Over The Top grabbed Pat Dye his first win over Alabama.

The 10-0 victory in the Iron Bowl secured Auburn's SEC Championship and a trip to New Orleans for the Sugar Bowl.

2024 - Karen Hoppa announces her retirement as @AuburnSoccer's head coach after 26 seasons.

Hoppa compiled a 293-192-60 record en route to 18 NCAA Tournaments, 7 SEC West titles, 1 SEC regular season title, and 1 SEC tournament title.

1818 - James Dowdell is born.

Dowdell would serve as the second president of the East Alabama Male College (now Auburn University) from 1868 until 1870.

1994 - In Cliff Ellis's debut as @AuburnMBB head coach, Auburn would defeat Lynn 78-70.

1988 - #7 Auburn defeated #17 Alabama 15-10 to win their third straight Iron Bowl.

Alabama was held to only 12 rushing yards, their lowest output in 33 years.

With the victory, Auburn clinched the SEC championship and a Sugar Bowl berth.
