Love wildlife, love North Norfolk, love the little details of the world around us...
If ever I am asked who my hero is, I say Jane Goodall. She lived to a ripe age and achieved so much in her lifetime, breaking scientific barriers and female ones. I was booked in to see her speak in London one more time on 3rd November but have just heard she has passed. Rest in peace Jane.

Hey @themarshtit.bsky.social After telling me my feather was from a Buzzards left wing, not an Osprey, I have actually now just seen an Osprey over Great Massingham!

Large crowd at the gates to Downing Street hitting cooking pots in protest at our Government not doing something to stop people starving to death in Gaza. The noise is immense. Been going on for days.

Well that was an exciting finale!

Apparently these common red soldier beetles are known as "bonking beetles" ...no idea why!

Just sat outside in the sun for a screen-break lunch. Mating pigeons to my right and a stunning yellow brimstone flew through to my left. The heady, musky smell of fox was in the air. I'm now ready to go back to it, refreshed!

Just seen evidence of a sparrowhawk's meal...does this look like woodpecker please?

21 years ago in February our son Thomas died, 7 days old. Friends gave us a Rowan Tree in his memory. Another friend, Mike, planted snowdrop under it as they flower in February.

Now the tree is tall and the snowdrop have spread out and they also act as a memory of Mike now. So much love here.

My #HouseofLords Q: A single data centre can use as much water as 100,000 homes. Will the government look to minimise the impacts in an increasingly water-stressed country?

A: We are concerned about growth

My car this morning looks rather beautiful

Hey Blue-sky people, I've just heard that this lovely place on my doorstep has been given the go ahead to be concreted over into a massive data centre, the biggest in Europe. Skylark breed here, butterflies emerge in abundance. On a 10 minute walk I recorded 11 bird species. I'm so upset.

To the crowds cheering Trump's withdrawal from the Paris Agreement:
Do you think you live on a different planet, which climate breakdown does not affect?
Do you imagine only greens and progressives will be harmed by Earth systems collapse?
Do you believe you can win an argument with physics?

Sorry Erich von Däniken—you don’t need aliens to explain the Pyramids and the moai of Rapa Nui…just very determined and ingenious Homo sapiens.

A single 400-year-old ancient oak produces 234,000 litres of oxygen a year while soaking up carbon dioxide, and can support more than 2,000 species of bird, insect, fungus, and lichen. Nature is amazing - we need more of it, not less. Please repost if you agree 🌳

What a wonderful day for a walk across the fields. Stopped to listen to a nuthatch singing it's heart out and this beauty popped out of a bush. We looked quietly at each other before it crept back into the undergrowth.

Managing to extend the Christmas period with a trip to @kewgardens.bsky.social last night....had a wonderful time. For me, it's such a treat seeing trees lit up showing such beauty at night. You see every detail and it's stunning. I loved this one which was lit like sparkling crystals.
