Crackfic hours
It happened sometime after halftime. Jayce was buzzing from the collective energy of the crowd and also probably the three beers he'd inhaled like water, and Viktor — still attempting to adjust to the idea that people cheered for offsides calls — had managed to survive with only minor emotional scarring. "Vik," Jayce said, leaning dangerously close, voice almost lost in the roar of the stands. "You've gotta try this." "No," Viktor said automatically. Jayce didn't even blink. "It's tradition." "You said that about the flag, the chant, and the guy in the corn costume," Viktor said. "Surely, not everything happening here qualifies as tradition." Jayce held out the offending item with both hands like it was a blessed object. "Michelada." It was a cup — no, a chalice - of beer, but not just beer. The rim had been coated in chili powder and mystery red sauce, and the liquid inside was a threatening shade of rust-orange. There was a lime wedge on the side, as if that would somehow soften the blow of what looked like violence in beverage form. Viktor stared at it like it might bite him. "Absolutely not," he said. Jayce jostled it gently. "Come on, one sip. You've never had one?" "I am Jewish," Viktor said flatly. "We are not known for our tolerance of capsaicin. Our traditional flavor palette is chicken and suffering." "But you like trying new things." "I like trying new safe things. Like artisanal bread. Or soft cheeses. My nose burns and all you're doing is holding it near me." Jayce pouted. "Bebé..." "Do not bebé me." "Mi vida," Jayce leaned closer, dark eyes glittering with mischief and affection and poor judgment. "Just a sip. I promise I'll get you a chocolate churro if you survive. You like those." "If?" Viktor hissed. "That is not reassuring." But Jayce was still smiling, and Viktor - fool, idiot, emotionally compromised man that he was — took the cup. He brought it to his lips. The rim immediately made contact. It tasted like blood, lime juice, and humiliation. Viktor got half a sip in before making a noise that could only be described as medically concerning. Jayce was already laughing. Viktor coughed, gagged, and very nearly lost control of his cane. "What is wrong with you?" he wheezed, wiping at his mouth like he'd just been pepper-sprayed. "You drink this for fun?" Jayce was doubled over now, barely breathing through his laughter. "Oh my God," Viktor groaned, eyes watering, "I think I'm blind. This went into my mouth and now my eyes aren't working." "You're such a drama queen," Jayce said, wheezing. "I need milk."

All I know is that JayVik inspired various songs and YA writers have written full novels over less so JayVik will definitely be getting turned into someone's Ocs and made into a romance novel of some sort over the next 5ish years
