Colossendeis megalonyx, the giant sea spider (Pycnogonida) from our LMG 13-12 cruise to the Western Antarctic Peninsula. My lab is studying these amazing creatures using genomics to examine circumpolar population connectivity, and we are sequencing its whole genome, amongst other things 🦑🧪🌎🇦🇶🐧

Our next submission for Sea Slug Day is this undescribed cadlinella from the United Arab Emirates - it resembles both C. ornatissima and C. subornatissima - in fact it has features of both - needs so DNA analysis
