As I was reminded yesterday, the way to beat fascism is yes, in the voting booth. But also by organizing and connecting like-minded people in your community. That’s how Minneapolis did it. And that’s something you can take action on today. And tomorrow. And the day after.

It’s nice to be reminded that politics isn’t always toxic. I went out canvassing with a local candidate and her family. So many lovely conversations with voters, especially the nice couple who invited us in for cookies while we talked about public schools and defeating ICE.

Until I saw this picture I was worried about my students’ parent(s) being taken away from them. This unlocked a whole new level of fear and anger.
This is Liam Ramos. His family has an active asylum case. He and his father were abducted from Minnesota yesterday and have already been flown to Texas, hundreds of miles away from his mother and older brother.
