[reading my emails for job application responses]

"thank you for applying" - rejected, nice. "unfortunately" - rejected again, nice. "we have decided" - still rejected, nice. "we have forwarded your application" - no interview, we take those. "other applicants" - rejected, nailed it. pretty good.

This new data poisoning tool lets artists fight back against generative AI

The tool, called Nightshade, messes up training data in ways that could cause serious damage to image-generating AI models.

Same playbook, new acronyms. I wonder if the mainstream press will fall for it again?

The DA has ruled that it was "objectively reasonable" to kill Tortuguita. They had their hands up, seated on the ground. Justice does not come from the courts, it comes from our dedication to fight for liberation through hardships and setbacks. We honor the dead by refusing to give up.

No wonder everyone’s going on strike, and no wonder management is so scared of giving in. Now we know: they can share their wealth any time; they just don’t want to. They won’t let go because you ask nicely. You have to pry their fingers loose one at a time.

No better window on the workings of the respectable reactionary mind than watching a prize-winning columnist type the words "Donald Trump knows how to dress"

A successful Bluesky is one where everyone’s on it, just like how Twitter was for better and worse. This kind of attitude was fun in the early days, but Bluesky can’t remain an exclusive poster’s club and be a place that sticks around.
We cannot allow the “vote blue no matter who” libs to enter bluesky. I need a place where I can call Biden a fucking dork without getting scolded by an even bigger fucking dork

the cop city fight is one of the most important challenges to the supremacy of the security state in living memory, and the fact that they are going after it with this much repressive force shows that they know this
Georgia has filed RICO charges against 61 Stop Cop City activists, marking the state's latest escalation of an authoritarian crackdown on the movement. Organizers say the charges send the message that "any dissent to Cop City will be punished with the full power and violence of the government."
Cop City Protesters Hit With RICO Charges in Latest Act of Political Repression
The RICO charges levied against Stop Cop City protesters can result in a fine or a five to 20 year prison sentence in Georgia.
