I love that the Hobbits themselves invented the art of smoking pipe weed, and it's one of the things that surprises Theodin the most when he meets Merry and Pippin

I love how, when the fellowship has to cross the Misty Mountains, everyone has an opinion on how to cross. Aragon wants to rough it through the North, Gandalf and Gimli want to delve the depths of Moria, and Boromir wants to go back South to Rohan

It seems to me like a big part of tolkien is about nurture vs nature. The nazgul's horses aren't evil monsters, they're just normal horses raised by sauron and the wraiths
