A bit of a throwback digital illustration to brighten up a Wednesday morning.

I painted this back in 2018. I don’t do much digital painting these days as AI changed how I felt about it. The effort seems worthless. However that's what led me to oil painting, the most real medium there is.

The games industry is a place where people with ADHD and Autism are managed by Psychopaths in companies owned by Narcissist billionaires 😬

A painting of Savage River, Denali National park, Alaska. Painted this over the past few weeks from a video I took from the lookout point. 100cm by 50cm

I probably could have broken the scene up into 3 smaller paintings but I wanted to show the massive expanse and beauty of it.

My first proper Plein air painting, it's a lot harder than I ever thought it would be but also very rewarding because of all the environmental challenges that are going on around you. Todays issue was not weather but a horde of bugs landing on the paint. @leecraigmile has been an awesome teacher!

This week's oil painting, from photos of a trip to Melrose in Scotland last Autumn.

I'm still not sure if I like this painting, I put a lot of vibrant colour into as I was trying to capture that golden time at the end of the day when the sun is low. It maybe feels like there is too much going on?

I love varnish time! When oil paints dry, they do so via a process of oxidisation and so the colours go dull. The varnish process brings back the colour and harmonises the painting.
