Science friends - please please call AAAS and any other contacts with the witnesses for tomorrow's hearing on the future of US science to demand they call out the Trump-Musk attacks on NSF, NIH, NOAA, DOE, USAID, etc. We need this on the record.

Here’s a thread of words that result in the National Science Foundation rejecting grants under the Trump administration’s bigoted and anti-intellectual executive order.

Among other things, about every shark paper I’ve ever written has included the word “female” referring to *FEMALE SHARKS*

Undergrad here trying to apply to summer REUs, and they’re already being cancelled for DEI!! NOAA IN FISH website was shut down the day applications were due. Called to confirm and the program has been shut down due to DEIA.

🚨BREAKING. From a program officer at the National Science Foundation, a list of keywords that can cause a grant to be pulled. I will be sharing screenshots of these keywords along with a decision tree. Please share widely. This is a crisis for academic freedom & science.

Frustrated, angry, disappointed ... these words cannot describe the current situation of NSF stopping salary payments for postdocs. This is affecting postdocs here at the University of Florida @ifas.ufl.edu
