Research associate in the lab. of Tim Hughes. I study transcription factor target specificities and gene regulation.
Actively looking for a group leader position to study functional noncoding disease- and normal variation in human population.
Hamed made a very nice summary of my new preprint about our new method and study for finding target sites of TFs in in vitro context, thus reflecting target sites without contribution of chromatin.
(14/n) Make sure to check out the manuscript to see how these findings advance our understanding of TF sequence specificity and evolution. This massive effort was led by @arttujolma.bsky.social, Aldo Hernandez-Corchado, Ally W.H. Yang, Ali Fathi, Kaitlin U. Laverty and others not yet on Bluesky.

(1/8) 🚀 Excited to share our findings on a large-scale ChIP-seq assay for 166 previously uncharacterized human transcription factors (TFs) and their roles in both regulatory regions, and more strikingly, the “dark matter” genome. 🌌 doi.org/10.1101/2024....
Extensive binding of uncharacterized human transcription factors to genomic dark matter
Most of the human genome is thought to be non-functional, and includes large segments often referred to as “dark matter” DNA. The genome also encodes hundreds of putative and poorly characterized tran...
