deleting my threads today i think some people are actually very annoying today. i had someone who made a very "oh so you hate waffles?" type of statement to a post i made when i called stoat unstabled. (they immediately deleted the bad post but still)

this is good to see because normally there'd be a pushback or double downing. i'll keep an eye on Stoat and see how it developers, the trust isnt completely back yet but the program still has a lot of stable issues itself unrelated to any of this regardless.
Stoat has removed all their LLM commits.

It's one dev who used it 3 times, and has not done since, and that code has already been removed because of that.

i've been migrating from messaging apps such as AIM, MSN, Skype, etc for almost my whole life. so this is nothing new to me. i dont have a strong attachment to discord, worst thing is leaving behind chat history because that isnt stored locally.

i dont think one thing should replace discord, i think like three things at minimum should replace discord. it being an All-in-One app has ruined so many parts of online.

like genuinely we do not need them. we've got almost 800 people on our server and it's full of linux nerds, web developers, etc. this goes for every stream discord i know of. we have the agency and knowledge to create our own fun on the internet. it's discord that holds us back

i'm not gonna catastrophize about this, especially because i think they're going to back off when they lose tons of nitro subs, but i'm not going to continue to let discord be a load-bearing pillar of my community either. it's time for us (like, the dot stream community) to look for alternatives
