It turns out that a cheap barcode scanner from AliExpress or wherever is actually just a keyboard. Given that the fact that it's just a keyboard, it can be used for macros effectively. Given all this, I present you with my git macro sheet.

I was trying to copy part of an address from the Google Maps "Address" search bar on Android.. It was impossible due to the way it decides to default the full address. Really very painful. It should at least offer options such as "Copy only street address" etc. (Ie drop units numbers.)
