Carla Joinson, a registered nurse, is credited with being the first to use the term compassion fatigue in 1992. She described compassion fatigue as a unique form of burnout where caregivers experience a “loss of the ability to nurture”. #BAMUHCP #BAMUNursing #ThenHeFlingsIt
