Apple has now removed the sketchy ChatGPT clone app mentioned below. I’ve also received unverified claims that many other copycats have been removed too 👏

Fun fact! Last year, Apple moved its security releases page from /HT201222 to an easier-to-remember URL ending in /100100

In binary, 100100 represents 36.

In ASCII, 36 corresponds to the dollar sign ($)

A subtle nod to the Apple Security Bounty program🤓

This is the new Moonlock app from MacPaw

I’ve been using it for weeks and I think it’s going to change how a lot of Mac users think about security

Real-time malware blocking, region-based network filtering, VPN, actually useful posture tips, and a pretty slick design

Why would anyone trust this platform with their money? I feel like I’m going mad…

Fascinating takeaways in @moonlocksecurity.bsky.social’s Mac Security Survey 2025! Now, only 15% of users surveyed still think Macs are malware proof (down from 28% in 2023). The myth is dying fast, but at a cost...66% reported falling victim to at least one cyber threat

Mosyle shared details with me about a new Mac malware strain dubbed "JSCoreRunnerk," which evades VirusTotal detections and spreads via a fake PDF conversion site (all the rage rn). Once installed, it quietly hijacks a user's Chrome browser. Exclusive👇

Oh boy. People are pealing stickers off gas pumps because they think it’s stealing their credit card details. NFC tokenization makes this literally impossible.
June 25, 2025 at 2:51 AM
NFC is getting a range boost from 0.5cm to 2cm, extending the distance by x4! Connection times will also be faster and require less precise alignment. This is gonna be great for smaller devices like Rings and Apple Watches!
NFC will work from further away to improve 'reliability' in tap to pay and more
NFC is an increasingly useful technology in the modern world, and now it’s getting a range boost as the standard...

The first computer bug.

In the 40s, engineers working on the Mark II computer at Harvard discovered a moth stuck in one of the machine's relays (what's now transistors)

They taped the insect to their logbook and labeled it as the "first actual case of a bug being found."
