I hope that, as we see more GM plants that are:

➡️ More nutritious
➡️ Hardier
➡️ Higher yielding
➡️ Public domain

Genetic modification will be seen as just another plant breeding tool. A very powerful one, that can be, and is often being, used for good.
This new genetically modified tomato is available to home gardeners.

It's got a snapdragon gene and is high in anthoycyanin.

TBH I don't care about the anthos (though upping nutrition is a great use for GM tech)

It's the color that gets me.

The plant gets its color — and a boost in antioxidants — from genes from an edible flower. It's the first time gardeners have been able to grow a GMO crop at home.
