Grade A listed…. Grrr. Buildings are ‘Category’ A listed in Scotland. ‘Grade’ is the term in the English system which is numerical.
Do you fancy a free guided tour of Europe's oldest members owned and run swimming club? Founded in 1870 and Grade A listed. Book your here on the @WestFestGlasgow

Bonn boasts a wealth of museums. For my final day I did about four of them, including Bundes Kunstmuseum, Beethoven House and the Landesmuseum. The last one hosts another favourite Late Roman artefact. A 4th century dice tower!

The inscription reads:
"Picts defeated
Enemy Destroyed
Play at ease!"

Listed Buildings… Wonder what percentage aren’t ‘buildings’. Constant irritant describing a bridge or statue as a ‘listed building’.

Awful news about the Aberlemno 3 Pictish stone. HES surely will reconsider how these stones are preserved.

Putting the box on them always felt like an anachronism. But so much of their charm will be lost if this and their setting is changed.

Pictish stone that stood for 1,200 years 'massively damaged' as wind blows it over
Heritage chiefs were told of concerns about the safety of Aberlemno 3 just last week.

Over on the other place, I had a ‘It’s Category not Grade’ Listed Building thread of shame. Nobody cared about it except me. But I’m nothing if not persistent.

Really really disappointed with the state this path has been allowed to fall into. C’mon Glasgow…

I don’t think it was intended as permanent, but it felt so fresh and innovative when it was built. A destination. Now it’s an eyesore.

How can a such an incredible mid-18th century building in the centre of such a desirable location as Portpatrick be allowed to fall into this state?
