Oxford United fan, curler, Brit expat in MA, thingamabobber of art and social media, maybe. Environment games artist in a former life.
This evenings tipple, the Deaf Glow 7.2% IPA from Lawson's, and it's lovely, smooth, hoppy and fruity.

Dropping off curling club bar license renewal in town before doing a rental so finally stopped by the Wayland Variety & Deli that's a real hole in the wall joint down the street from the club.
Those sandwiches were loaded and tasty, and they have a bunch of Brit chocolate imports for solid prices.

French Onion popcorn, and a box of dicks that are supposedly ginger bread people. Trader Joe's is winning right now...

USB C cable, lasted 3 month, so went looking for replacement when reorder note came up & noticed it has 3yr warranty. Emailed for a laugh, they responded in mins. They're arranging pick up & will send a replacement once picked up.
Way better service than can be expected on a $10 purchase.

Mr Steve is passed out like a kipper on my lap, which is making it a little difficult to get up...

Last night we started watching the Great British Knitting Show. It was equal parts amazing and awful... With an amusing bit of controversy in the news.
Glorious.

The awesome Alien Church, 7% IPA from Tired Hands, Ardmore, PA is this evening tipple. Lovely, dank, piney, hoppy with a hint of orange & blueberry.
As it happens, they're the November DIPA collab with Equilibrium this month, sounded like a good one but a touch high abv for the curling club bar.

Also, have the option to get some Spanish Marie Ecto Kewler, but I'll pass. A log would cost more than all but a couple 1/2 barrels I get, only Maine Lunch and Bissell Substance cost more, but a 1/2 barrel is about 3 logs worth of beer. Really nice sour if you happen to see it though.

Had the Small Group of Reasonable People from Brick & Feather last night, based out in Florence, MA so pretty west of the state. This was a lovely light brown ale and 4% was a nice way to end the night.

We hosted our Junior Bonspiel which was a national qualifier for the U21, and both winners were from our club.

Last night's tipple ended with more beers. Spelled Bones, 10% imperial stout from Foam went down way too smoothly and is a great beer, but out of budget for the club unfortunately. It was chased down with the Phantom of the Hopera, a 8.5% DIPA from Clover Road in town, which was also lovely.

#Poorlifechoices, but England beat Kiwis in a come back rugby to take the Quilter Cup, so it's the Dented 9.5% triple IPA from Frost, & what was probably a terrible cigar that I picked up just because it came in an orange tube that is actually very nice while I burn some bills and dead tree debris.

Last night's tipple was the Harvester of Science an 8.5% DIPA from Equilibrium, and it was very smooth, hoppy, and tasty. Glad I was able to get a sample, but also okay with passing on getting it for the club as it was a little pricey. Their December release is sounding like it'll be great too.

My youngest, getting easy bonus points in her maths class just for giving her teacher a copy of the syllabus for his birthday.
He had mentioned in the open house that no one bothers to read the thing but that it would be worth doing so she put the date on the calendar to remember to bring it in :)

Cousins v Peterson in a best of 3 final at the Olympic qualifiers after winning the tie breaker against Strouse, a game that had a lot of former members and juniors of our club, Broomstones (Sydney, Elizabeth C, Liz J, Allison), E is still a member.
3pm ET first draw of the final, on Peacock.

Old Man an ESB from Treehouse. It's a solid one but at 5.4% a little heavy for the kind. Still, it hits the spot right now.

We got a mini ice maker. Was going to lend to the club while the ice maker was waiting on the repair person to show, but they did a temporary fix yesterday, and now waiting on a part. So our youngest is happy about having plenty of ice at home :)

Last night opposing skip made this great angle raise to get on the board!

We're 7-0 in our pool, but I'm 2nd for the late draws, and last 2 games are early. Against the 0-7 & 1-6 teams, so likely making the championship game before the holidays. Lost that enough though.

The Olympic trial curling has been fun.
But some very questionable shot calls there in the Dropkin v Shuster game that lead to snatching defeat from the jaws of victory.

This week's free chicken sammie, the Barn Burner, with slaw, and a side of the roasted cauliflower salad. Yum.

Garage said exhaust needed holes patched & hanger fabricated/replaced & to go to place 15 mins away instead of getting whole thing replaced.
Got a good quote, guy sees my curling jersey, talks about Montreal as was just up there, & London as he wants to visit next summer. Cuts more off the bill.
