Today our huge N2-fixation in inland and coastal environments effort was published in Science www.science.org/doi/10.1126/... I am so glad to have been part of this journey! #nitrogenfixtion
Global importance of nitrogen fixation across inland and coastal waters
Biological nitrogen fixation is a key driver of global primary production and climate. Decades of effort have repeatedly updated nitrogen fixation estimates for terrestrial and open ocean systems, yet...

New paper where we follow phytoplankton and biotoxins in farmed blue mussels in the Baltic Sea during a full season. Toxins of different types varied over the year but was never above any recommended limits which is promising for blue mussel farming 🌊 www.sciencedirect.com/science/arti...
Seasonal dynamics of biotoxins and potentially toxic phytoplankton in three Baltic Sea blue mussel farms
Cyanobacterial blooms are common in the Baltic Sea during summer, and even though several cyanobacteria are toxin producers, many organisms still inge…

I hear a lot about people being scared or creeped out by the giant sea spiders....my normal response is a) they don't bite, and b) they are SLOW! Here's some proof....Colossendeis robusta and an Ammothea sp. walking in a tank on our research cruise in 2020 (NBP20-10). 🧪🐧🦑🌎🇦🇶🧬
