This should be shouted from every rooftop. Suburban sprawl plays a direct role in why Americans cannot protest the way they do overseas
People always say it's hard for Americans to organize and demonstrate the way, say, the French do. This is by design.

We've pretty much built our entire society around 1) THE CAR and 2) SUBURBAN SPRAWL. We're isolated from each other to a degree they are not and have never been. 1/2

One of the greatest manipulations of our urban environments in the last century was making the masses dependent on a few thousand pounds of steel to go from A to B for the most basic of everyday needs.

Arrowhead Stadium and Berlin's Olympiastadion share similar capacities as World Cup venues. Yet Arrowhead has 19,000 parking spaces served by one local bus, while Olympiastadion has 660 spaces and three rapid train stations. We are truly not ready for the World Cup.

Americans will go on vacation to a place that isn’t a car sewer, walk and take public transit for 8-12 hrs. a day, notice a change in their health, and attribute it to “they must not have the Illuminati chemicals here”
Ainsley Earhardt makes a case for RFK Jr: "When you go to Europe, the food is delicious. It's so fresh. And you don't gain weight if you eat a big bowl of pasta. So we want that to come here to America."

The lack of magic European pasta is definitely our problem, not the way we get from A to B for damn near everything.

Great read.
It's time to start wondering when politicians and gov. officials will begin to make it easier to densify and listen to what the people want
