Zuckerberg’s site decided to remind me that Mom has been gone two years today. As if I don’t remember that every day. And then it also filled my feed with friends’ posts alerting me to the fact that one of my favorite professors, mentors, and small-budget Indy b-film movie maker died today as well.

I’m glad Republicans are finally asking questions. I’m pissed that all the brown lives harmed and lost wasn’t enough. I’m pissed that a queer woman’s life wasn’t enough. It took a man carrying a gun before they willing to look.

I grew up in an NRA/2A household and can easily explain the difference. Alex Pretti did not brandish his weapon and was not not there to enforce racist talking points. Kyle Rittenhouse fetishized police and was defending racist tropes with his presence. They only want to arm the racists. 🤷🏻♀️

I’m not one to defend a Trump often… but he did the right thing. He saw a woman being harmed. He figured out how to contact authorities in another nation. I have to admit, I’d be rude, too, if they seemed more concerned about how I know her than intervening in her assault. 🤷🏻♀️
I’m just saying that there will be a day, hopefully sooner rather than later, when I play “Nobody Mourns the Wicked” on a 24 hour loop.

I was dragged to Avatar: Fire and Ash. Here’s my review: Moby Dick meets Braveheart sprinkled with a bit of 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea and Tarzan. But don’t worry, it’s still heavy on Native American fetishism and racist tropes. Oh, and Javert jumps into the water at the end.
