An important piece of my postdoctoral work now out. My first entry into the early secretory pathway regulation had many interesting surprises. Thanks for the collaboration @ishier.bsky.social. The deflects in collagen secretion really elevated the paper.
Is the ERGIC a stable organelle? How are its identity and diverse roles maintained? @anupap.bsky.social (Bogan lab, Yale) shows TUG maintains ERGIC integrity, shaping cargo flux and functions like collagen secretion and autophagy—a cargo-selective brake via ERGIC organisation.

Super excited to share this story I completed in @elizgrice.bsky.social towards the end of my postdoc! Here we colonized germ-free mice with 50 unique bacterial species that represent the skin microbiome. Also my first paper as assistant professor @WashU!
Commensal-derived tryptophan metabolites fortify the skin barrier: Insights from a 50-species gnotobiotic model of human skin microbiome by Aayushi Uberoi (@WUSTL), Elizabeth A. Grice (@Penn), and colleagues. http://dlvr.it/THPNdZ

My first post in Bluesky and first invited talk as a new PI. Come see how we use in vivo imaging to understand how spatio-temporal changes in metabolism drive responses to oncogenic mutations in the skin. Thanks so much to the organisers for giving me this platform.
Save the Date: In next week's CIBSS seminar, Dr. Anupama Hemalatha (@fmiscience.bsky.social) will discuss metabolic rewiring at the interphase of oncogenesis and homeostasis.
