The scariest thing this Halloween is Trump trying to flip more seats red. Voting YES on Prop 50 is the best way to fight back.

I’m humbled to have the support of the California State Building and Construction Trades Council of California for my campaign for governor.

I stand with the nurses and health care professionals at UNAC/UHCP whose contract with Kaiser expired last night and are on the verge of going on strike. I ask Kaiser to negotiate in good faith, as their health care workers are fighting for a new contract that protects patients.

We have an affordability crisis in CA and now #GOPs, who control both branches of Congress and the White House, are refusing to negotiate to extend key funding that would help keep #healthcare costs low for thousands of Californians. As a result, many could see their health insurance...(1 of 2)

We are facing an affordability crisis—all made worse by #TrumpTariffs and now compounded by a reckless gov't #shutdown. With a GOP President and majorities in Congress, Trump and the Republicans are the only ones responsible for the shut down that will hurt all Americans. www.cnn.com/2025/10/01/p...
US government shuts down with funding deal out of reach on Capitol Hill | CNN Politics
The federal government has officially shut down after a deadlocked Congress failed to pass a funding measure to keep the lights on – and no one inside the Capitol knows what will happen next.

A 100% tariff on foreign-made films will crush Hollywood by raising ticket and movie prices, slashing American industry jobs, offering fewer cinematic choices, and launching inevitable trade retaliation. America leads by exporting culture, not by walling it off. www.axios.com/2025/09/29/t...
Trump threatens 100% tariff on foreign-made movies
The levy could cause massive disruption to — and confusion in — the entertainment industry.

The firing of Californian @jimmykimmel.com represents an egregious violation of the 1st Amendment. In America, free speech is a protected right. When a public figure is fired over their opinions, it reaches a dangerous level of government interference – one of many by the #Trump administration.

Today, we honor the lives lost on September 11th and pay tribute to the firefighters, police, first responders and everyday heroes who showed us the strength of the American spirit. We will never forget their courage and sacrifice. #NeverForget

As I said in @politico.com last week, Trump has targeted Californians with tariffs, ICE raids, and attacks on health care. Now he’s coming after us through redistricting. If he’s going to play politics with maps, California will fight back — and defend fair representation.

I’m honored to have the support of Barbara Boxer, who was a relentless fighter for California in Washington for 24 years and continues to do so today. She knows I am committed to ensuring that all California remains the golden state where all Californians can prosper.

Bad jobs numbers? Fire the lead nonpartisan statistician and replace her with a loyalist who’ll hide the truth. That’s not how you grow an economy — it’s how Trump covers up failure.

Tenemos derecho a proteger nuestra frontera, pero no a aterrorizar a las comunidades.

The Trump Administration is once again attacking California by targeting UCLA, my alma mater. Attacking institutions of higher education and withholding funding for life-saving medical and scientific research is a tactic of authoritarianism, and one we must fight – in the courts if necessary.

We have a right to secure borders, but not a right to terrorize communities.

As the first female Lieutenant Governor of California, Eleni Kounalakis has been a strong leader for California. She is a committed public servant, and I wish her well in her race to become California's State Treasurer.

The ICE raids yesterday appear to be in direct violation of a court order. Standing and waiting for work as a day laborer is not 'reasonable suspicion' as required by the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals to stop someone for an immigration check.

When non-partisan redistricting was on the ballot in California I supported it because I believe we need less partisanship in politics. But today we find ourselves in extraordinary times. Trump and Republicans are using the nuclear option in Texas to undermine American democracy nationwide.

California is full of endless possibilities, but faces enormous challenges. We need a proven problem solver with the experience to take them on.

California’s future starts with our schools. As Mayor, I turned around failing schools and increased graduation rates by 60%. As governor, I’ll invest in education and ensure every child has the opportunity to succeed.

It’s time we put workers first again — lowering costs, creating good jobs, and making California affordable for everyone.

Every Californian deserves to feel safe. As Mayor, I cut violent crime by 48%, hired nearly 1,000 new police officers, and invested in crime prevention and gang intervention. As governor, I’ll keep our neighborhoods safe and our communities strong.

According to CNN, there have already been 254 mass shootings in America this year. We can respect the Second Amendment while making sure guns are handled safely and responsibly.
