Today, Minister Steve Reed & @sadiqkhanlondon.bsky.social have confirmed London will be able to place a levy on overnight trips.

A tourist levy would allow all those visiting, working & living in London to benefit from our thriving visitor economy.

Insightful from @antoniajennings.bsky.social on spending review outcome for London. Some optimism too for the infrastructure announcement, perhaps, as TfL says it will shortly appoint consultants to complete a formal application for DLR extension, and has promised second consultation in late June.

Good to join the panel on short-term lets at the @centreforlondon.bsky.social housing summit.

There are now 117k properties let short-term in London, including 43k breaching the legal 90 nights a year limit. I welcome the new report by Central London Forward which calls for licensing.
