It appears that way ONLY if you focus on share of consumption and ignore absolute levels. The latter tells a very different story, with China burning 12x more coal than the US, and growing 👇...

Energy consumption from Coal, 2024:

China - 25,599.31 TWh
US - 2,195.63 TWh

Nate Erskine-Smith wants to be Ontario Liberal Leader...

Pick your leaders wisely...

Why did Liberal MP & possible ON Liberal leadership candidate Nate Erskine-Smith @beynate.bsky.social delete his Snow Day in Toronto post 👇? Maybe because letting his kid toboggan head-first down a hill questions his judgment as a dad? And as a Premier? #wreckless

These analogies are imperfect since they ignore lopsided equalization pmts, since AB is a net contributor, & QC & ON are net recipients. AB will gladly contribute an outsized share, so long as it is allowed to develop its economy to pay for it. But constraining it & still demanding $$$ is not on.

Here's another analogy...

Say the feds decided to constrain hydro power due to landscape impacts. Quebec's main power source, the low electricity costs supporting its industries, & power export revs, are all threatened, risking Quebec's future prosperity. Would Quebec have a legitimate grievance?

Here's an analogy for context...

Say the fed govt decided the finance industry (banks, insurance, etc), centred in Ontario (~7% of all jobs here) was bad & passed laws restricting activity & discouraging investment, threatening ON's future prosperity. Would ON have a legitimate grievance with feds?

Toronto's bike activist zealots are like spoiled little kids who imagine everything revolves around them. The world must drop everything and cater to their whims...
Limited resources means having to prioritize/triage. Sidewalks for pedestrians, esp elderly, and roads so that transit and emergency vehicles can move, and trucks can resupply grocery stores, etc. Bikes can still share the cleared roadways, so clearing dedicated bike lanes isn't an urgent need.

Oh, look 👇... Canadian GDP flat-lined in November 2025, after cratering in October. Statscan now expects that the Canadian economy shrank in Q4. Halfway there to an official RECESSION. Thanks, Mr. Carney!

Ground youself in reality and your anxiety and delusions disappear.

Liberals are the problem
Trudeau created lots of Canada only problems

In the case of grocery prices he made some global problems worse in Canada b/c he didn’t understand Econ 101

Thankfully he is gone

When Shannon works this hard to deflect or sell talking points on behalf of Liberals, you know there's an election being called soon! 🤣🤣🤣🤡
Not a Canada only problem - just ask anyone in the US and Europe if prices have gone up in their countries

Last time groceries jumped was 2008-2013 - they claimed that was due to feud costs

Prices didn’t go back down

Abolishing supply managment is a Canada-only solution to a Canada-only problem.

Stop rich Quebec farmers from stealing $$$ out of the pockets of ordinary Canadians.

It's immoral to pour a billion litres of milk down the drain annually just to keep Quebec dairy farmers rich!
The world is suffering from affordability issues- This isn’t a Canada only problem

It does need a Canada only solution

What would you rather see as policy to address affordability?
