I was today years old when I found out about the IG Nobel prize awards, which are like parodies on the Nobel prize held each year a week before the real thing. There's prizes for crazy stuff like researching whether being drunk lets you speak foreign languages better (spoiler: it does!). Hilarious.

Found out about this very cool author's cafe right here in Rotterdam, with private writing rooms, lots of bookshelves, and a good view of the port. It's called the Veerhuis (Ferry House) and definitely worth visiting. Well, if you're ever in the Netherlands...

Now onto the first draft of The Fox's Crown cover art by @merilliza.bsky.social. We went for a combination of thumbnails B and D, so we have the heroic stance but also the cool lanterns on the ship. Expect a lot more colors, but the composition probably won't change much for the final version.

Just made a Tidal account, it works practically the same as Spotify but has slightly better audio quality. It also pays the artists on it more, which is great because I listen to far too much music and like to know at least some of that revenue goes to the artists I love.

A bit late to the party, but the winner of the tenth SPFBO (self-published fantasy blog-off) award has just been announced! By Blood, By Salt By JL Odom is a character-driven military fantasy set in a unique world. SPFBO brings the spotlight to Indie authors, and is definitely worth checking out!
