What a surreal experience to be leading a workshop for education researchers on how to write about their research, in a building directly across from the US Capitol, and wake up to discover that the entire national education statistical staff has been fired.

Towns and homesteads were forcibly evacuated to make way for the Hanford Engineer Works of the Manhattan Project. Very little remains today: 1) the high school at the town of Hanford, 2-3) the bank at the town of White Bluffs, 4) the warehouse at Bruggemann Ranch.
