im today years old that a good chunk of peeps on reddit hate AUs that arent plot-heavy or are slice of life-y/character centric/setting being too far away from canon...
ymmv but condemning genres of AUs is kind of ^^; ntm i see more writers fumble on actual plot-heavy ones... ehh
