People on the left who love books and reading and writing and teaching and learning need to push it. Right now, too much is right wing classical education vs neoliberal ROI education.
I'm late to this, but @annieabrams.bsky.social recently wrote a great piece on the stakes involved in reading and teaching literature, and it's essential reading for understanding what the "classical education" and charter-school "great books" people are actually trying to do.

Common Core and the College Board are my enemies. But the classical education movement is not my friend.
