We had a great crowd for the first-ever poetry reading in Humboldt by Asian American poets on Sunday!

“Ink to Paper” featured original #poetry by seven poets: Mark Shikuma, Shizue Harada (poems read by Amy Uyeki), Daryl Ngee Chinn, Libby Yee, Tony Wallin-Sato, Paul Michael Atienza and me.

The ukiaHaiku Festival, held in Ukiah, CA, was such a nice event! I gave a keynote about my haiku journey, the elements of effective haiku, haiku-related forms and why we write haiku. People of all ages and walks of life shared their #haiku amid live music and good spirits.

Excited to be part of an art show at the Morris Graves Museum of Art in Eureka, CA featuring 12 local artists of Asian ancestry! The show opens Sat., May 3, 6 to 9 p.m. "Ten Thousand Gates: A Celebration of Humboldt Asian American Artists" will run from April 26 to June 8.
